Hampshire are moving in 2001 to a new ground built to the east of the town that has cost £20 million. I have called this picture "Close of play at Southampton CCC". Their inaugural match here was in 1885 when they were beaten by an innings by the MCC. Their last game here consigns them to relegation to Division 2.
